It was another 10 minutes until our waiter took our food order, and not once did anyone ask us if we'd like something other than water to drink. The smaller cruise ships of this class combine European elegance and modern comforts while venturing far and wide. With a capacity near 2,500 passengers, these ships provide for a more classic cruise experience that focuses on itineraries. They also draw cruisers who care more about the destinations they visit on a cruise than onboard attractions. Each of the Seaside Class ships boasts an unusually broad, uncovered, outdoor promenade on Deck 8 that offers close contact with the ocean and a Miami Beach-like pool area at the back of the same deck that's surrounded by loungers.

This is probably the closest you’re ever going to come to visiting Willy Wonka’s infamous chocolate factory. Trained chocolate makers can often be found designing and making unique creations. You can even order a model ship made out of milk, dark or white chocolate. There are plenty of activities both indoors and out on MSC Meraviglia.
Back by the aft pool, there’s the Horizon Bar which, given its location and killer views, is perfectly named. There are plenty of drink stations within the Marketplace, and if you want to dine outside, there’s space on the back patio that overlooks the wake. The food issues made me think twice (and even three times) before sailing with them again.
MSC Meraviglia is packed with extraordinary features for the perfect experience at sea. Launched between 2006 and 2010, This class of ships does have fewer dining and suite options (there is no MSC Yacht Club onbaord) but does have suites, as well as standard ocean view, interior and balcony cabins. As is typical for the biggest megaships, Seaside vessels also have a wide range of restaurants, bars and lounges. Among nine distinct eateries are two main dining rooms, two buffet eateries, a pan-Asian restaurant, sushi bar, Teppanyaki eatery, American steakhouse and seafood restaurant.
